Emergency Medical Responder
Emergency Medical Responders provide immediate lifesaving care to patients in the emergency medical services system. They are trained with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide lifesaving interventions as a emergency medical responder first on scene. EMRs also provide assistance to personnel such as EMT, AEMT and Paramedics at the scene of emergencies and or assist during transport. Emergency Medical Responders are a vital part of the comprehensive EMS response system. Candidates are required to complete the initial course with IRP and or an approved EMS educational program before attempting this certification exam. Exam has 100 questions in the following content areas Airway / Respiration / Ventilation, Cardiovascular Emergencies, Trauma, Medical, Pediatric/Geriatrics/OBGYN and EMS Operations
Emergency Medical Technician
Emergency Medical Technicians provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for patients in the emergency medical services system. EMTs poses the skills and knowledge necessary to help stabilize and transport patients ranging from non-emergency medical transports to life threatening emergency patients. Emergency Medical Technicians perform the required interventions using medical equipment they have been trained with. Emergency Medical Technicians play an important role in patient management between the scene of an emergency and the health care system. EMT collaborate with other emergency personnel on scene. Candidates are required to complete the initial course with IRP and or an approved EMS educational program before attempting this certification exam. This certification exam has 120 questions in the following content areas Airway / Respiration / Ventilation, Cardiovascular Emergencies, Trauma, Medical, Pediatric/Geriatrics/OBGYN and EMS Operations
